Mine just started yesterday- could it be a break in the flex connector thing?

Re: Caller LCD display broken(phone dropped)

I got the same problem. It started displaying a message "check sim". I turned off and on and that message disappeared. After getting that message a couple of times, the screen went black. But if i turn on the cell with the cover only half way, i am able to see the screen. if I close it or open, i am not able to see anything unless i turned off/on again with the lid half way.

Very curious, this problem just happened after the warranty expired!!

Our phone just stopped showing caller ID one day. No just shows "external" and no number.

It is my understanding the caller ID feature comes as part of your telephone service and your phone only displays what comes through. So either you changed the subscription which means you dropped the Caller ID feature or your BT plan does not have it anymore. Best to call BT and confirm.

The main display disappears after opening the phone. It appears every time the phone is opend and then disappears. I can't access numbers and cannot see who is calling. The battery has been charged and the...

there are several reasons why display disapprears.

1) probably your phone experience accidental impact and that causes lcd flex connector to get loose and causes no display.
2) defective or damaged flex connector.
3) defective lcd or open line connection to lcd.

I recommend not to open your phone since it is very tricky to open it and there's a great chance of damaging the LCD and also if your unit is still in warranty and if the warranty sticker is broken, your warranty is void. instead have it repaired to your phone dealer or provider and that saves you from trouble.

but if you really to gamble and give it a try (Don't do this if your not sure what your doing!), you can fix it yourself if the problem is on no. 1 (loose connector). open your phone slowly (since delicate parts inside and remember its part placements) using t6 or t7 screws and locate the lcd flex connector (usually behind the LCD) that connects the lcd to the main board. remove it slowly not to damage it and look for abnormalities, if none, then put it back securely and assemble your unit. then give it a try...

for problem 2 and 3. You can order flex or lcd at ebay and change it yourself. be sure it is the right type for your unit. for dismantling your unit be sure to remember the parts, how they are installed and how to put it back. Be patient and this requires a lot of time to disassemble.

Good Luck!

Don't forget to rate me OK! Thanks...
Hope i helped you...

I dropped my nokia 6131. now the mini display is not working: it's upside down and not showing caller id. + the flip is not answering the all when opened

one of the problems with the flip phones is they are very easily broken at the hinges. try taking out the battery and then restarting it. there are several very tiny wires that go through the hinges, and if one of them is broken, not much you can do unless you are very good with cells. only a shop could fix, unless you have insurance on your phone. if not...... new phone.....argggg

NOKIA N70 Screen problem

it is white screen on display or black?

white screen problem can come from the ASIP filter on the mainboard.
change the ASIP or it usualy called Display IC.
before you change it, try with other LCD.

cause it placed near the backup bateray.

I can not hear caller but caller hears me. Display light will not come on.

Friend if you cannot hear the problem is your Ear piece or the speaker you can tighten if it is lost contact or replace it if it is damage.use T6 screw driver in tighting. Display will not come means the LCD connection is may tighten it also. I guess tightening will solve your problem because the connection of speaker or ear peice is near with the LCD connection.maybe it is lost contact thats why it wont display.good luck

Nokia 7373, Powers up but the LCD displays 2 vertical lines.

Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.

Your broken display might shortcut your phone,
making it unaccessible with the broken display in place.

This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
You can find displays for fair price at :
