Pioneer 301CD Player PD F1009 disc tray jammed

The CD's in my PDF1009 Pioneer CD player won't advance. The selection wheel spins normally and the screen shows the numbers advancing but the disc tray doesn't go forward or backward. I removed all the CD's (opened the case - gasp!!!) but nothing was stuck. No error message on front either. Only 2 yrs 2 mos old (out of warranty naturally....). Any advice would be helpful.

Have a pre-owned, but lightly used Pioneer PD-F1009, and found a software program to catalog my CD collection on my laptop (called MusicCollector from Collectorz.com).

Loaded up over 200 CDs, and was giving the random play a workout, when after about 20 tunes, WHAM, I heard a loud popping noise, and the machine stopped rotating the carousel. The electronic cues still performed, but nothing moved except the main door. I searched for a solution in the owner's manual, and there was nothing like this described. Found this RixYa blog, and the description of the problem, and the solution looked identical.

When I opened the cover, I saw one CD was loose in the player (center), and because I had a catalog and could read the title, I could see which slot it belonged in. I carefully rotated the carousel by hand, until the right slot was aligned with the feed chute, and eased the CD out of the center back into its own slot. Then, I followed the advice of the genius who posted the solution, and moved the white lever back into its slot in the black housing.

Everything is working again, thanks to you fellas. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge.

    I have a similar problem.

I have had this unit for several years and it worked perfectly. I only used one CD at a time as that is all I needed. However, yesterady, in playing a CD, I also heard a loud popping noise and the volume changed.

So I stopped the machine and tried to check it and eject the CD. The CD just fell and I had to retrieve it.

The electronic cues still performed, When I opened the cover, I saw one CD was loose in the player I also carefully rotated the carousel by hand, until the right slot was aligned with the feed chute, and eased the CD out of the center back into its own slot. There is a black lever that falls down in front of the CD, I assume to guide it into the playing slot, but the CD does not get pushed forward.

I noticed that when I tried starting the CD again, I could see the CD getting aligned, but it doesn't get pushed forward, so it just doesn't start. Opening the door I will either find the CD on its side or held in place.

CAN I FIX THIS MYSELF.... PLEASE HELP.

I have had this unit for a few years with no problems. However yesterday, suddenly WHAM, I heard a loud popping noise. The electronic cues still performed but the volume changed so I stopped the player and tried to check it and remove the CD. It fell on its side when I opened the cover so I carefully rotated the carousel by hand, until the right slot was aligned with the feed chute, and eased the CD out.

It does the same thing now each time I try to play it. The CD rotates to the left where it should be pushed forward into the play slot but it just stays there. It is not being pushed in.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME ON THIS…..

I had this same problem today on my pd-f1007
unplugged it
took off the cover screws ..2 on each side and 3 in back on top

in the middle of the unit there is a white arm with a tab on both sides

it lifts the cd into the middle to be played

the white tab had come out of the slot it was suppossed to be in on the black cd arm

just carefully ease the tab back into the slot and its like new

I too had same problem with my Pioneer Elite PD F27. Located white tab and rotated while inserting tab into black cd slide piece. No sooner than you can say Bobs your Uncle, we're golden. Nice fix for saving some green. Thank you.

I just can't believe it. The solution WAS PERFECT.
I had to look for that white arm and it took a little
guess work on how it worked.
But my god, he is right. Hold the black Upper arm that moves
back and forth to load the cd, and push on the white tab piece,
until it pops back in. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on it. It will pop in if you have it right.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ss123.

Pioneer PD-M501 6-CD Player manual and what magazine cartridge

The standard cartridge for the Pioneer PD-M501 is the Pioneer JD-M300 6-disc magazine, and you can find them at Amazon.com for $25 new. The JD-M300 fits a lot of different brands of CD players, not just this particular brand and model. And here's a link to a copy of the owner's manual: http://www.scribd.com/doc/22613342/Pioneer-PD-M601-M551-M501

Turned on my Pioneer PD M501 one day and it would not play. Disc tray will not retract into cartridge and cartridge will not eject.

Sometimes the little ball bearings that keep the cart trays separated come out causing tray jams.
Make sure your tray retracts all the way into the player flush with the face plate, gently push it in while retracting for those occasional no-read situations. (Also for Denon that takes these same carts). Also note that the CDs go in the Upside Down position.

Can't remove cd cartridge because won't power up.

With the top off the unit, you can turn the tray gears manually for slow eject function. Unplug unit before touching anything inside, check internal fuses.

The pd-f1007 301 disc player was working fine yesterday, and this morning i turned it on,, and the display didn't come on, and the tray just keeps spinning very slowly, any ideas

You may need to take the backing off of the player to check if any cds might have jamed in the actual cd player. i have one similar to this that jams because of one cd that is a little bit larger then the other.

Pioneer PDR-W839 Jammed Disc Changer (previously posted)

hello poopig1, after further review, I meant to describe this: look for a pinhole in the area of the CD tray to insert a pin...similar to the same pinhole you see on a PC's cd player to eject the tray manually. If there is none, then try this: Open the cover and find the motor that, when turning, performs the tray ejection. Then, turn that motor by hand until the entire tray (or cartridge) is ejected. Then power up and observe the events.

try a lens cleaning cd,if this doesnt work is more than likely optic (laser) faulty as laser has to focus first before spinning disc.if it cannot focus disc will not spin..
