System Shutdown (blue Screen)

Hi,

I would like to seek help on my new Acer Aspire 5580. This problem started a week ago. When I was downloading music from limewire. Once the download is done and i launch the music, the computer immediately crashes with a sound and then shows a blue scree. Sample that i see is The size of the \WINDOWS\Temp\.... entry is not valid......I am getting very frustrated. Im not much of a techie person.

Here are the specs of my Laptop
core 2 duo
256 MB video card
120G Hard Drive
512 MB DDR2

I am getting the impression that my memory is too low?
PLease help me.

My contact is [email protected]

Your immediate response on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi SoftPlanway,

I was excited when I got your response however when I was on safe mode, I had two problems. 1. i no longer have internet access even if i logged as the system administrator. 2. When I downloaded the "debugger" using normal mode and saved it on desktop so I can access it at a later time, I can no longer have it run on my system and it showing that I have restrictions even if i logged as a the administrator. I have no idea what to do next. Once again, please bear with me on this concern. I am just not as literate when it comes to this. But I feel better, knowing something can be done.

    Hi Bear001,

I havent gone through your solution yet but I will definitely come back to get it done too. You will definitely hear from me once I am done.

A Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop error, BSOD or bluescreen) is an error screen displayed by certain operating systems, most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage. Bluescreens can be caused by poorly written device drivers, faulty memory, a corrupt Registry, or incompatible DLLs.

you may need to run a debugging program in safemode

Hello Rickz,
Did You do a system safe mode start, and then a system restore, Do you have a Good Antivirus and spyware ? Make sure you have both if not here are the best ones I know about for Free. You can get spybot search and destroy, and for a good antivirus you will want Avast,They are both Free And Great software. Alright now. Now when your booting you system up for the first time, You will see your Logo Press the F8 key Repeatedly until a screen comes up asking you to Make a choice to start your O.S. Tab down to safemode a select, Press enter, It may ask you to select your operating system if you have more than one, Just press enter. Ok Don't panic when you see all the info in the screen it will go away, The computer will fire up in safe mode, Once it does go into your programs> accessories>Tools>System Restore.. Restore Your computer to A Date to before you had Troubles. Hey If that Don't Help You Let Me Know. We will see what else We can do. Also make sure you Run that antivirus and spyware there is also windows defender is free but its very important you have all those and make sure that the bug you caught goes away...

My acer laptop aspire 5580 creen monitor goes black, how can i put it back?

Unplug the power, remove the battery and then hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds. Then reattach the power and attempt a boot. It worked for me! Just shutdown, put the battery back in you're good to go. Worked for me so definitely worth a try.

HI I a acer 5580 and i would like to put windows 7 on it? is it possible

Yes, it is possible to use Windows 7,but acer doesn't release Windows 7 drivers for your Notebook as they don't support it.

But you can use the drivers for Windows Vista as 90% of the drivers meant for Windows Vista works fine with Windows 7.usually you can have problem with your webcam drivers.

You can download vista drivers from the link below

That's it.

Hi! I have and Acer Aspire Mini notebook laptop. boot to windowsxp then bluescreen shutdown. please help

This might be RAM problem. Replace with new one or Clean the RAM and Reinsert it and check., if same happens again then reinstall the operating system.

These are the 2 causes for Blue Screen in rare cases it might be with new hardware also.

Hope this information is useful

Thanks & Regards
