The lens has jammed open again. This is 3rd time this has happened and camera is 2 years old. 1st time, ricoh replaced it. 2nd time Jessops sent it to repairers in Birmingham who sent it back repaired. But it has happened again.
Does anyone know of this problem and how to solve it.

I have taken the camera back to Jessops who sent it to their service dpt. They wrote and told me it would be £137 for the repair so I wrote back and told them I wanted it fixing FOC or a replacement or I would take legal action against them. They have phoned me today to agree with free repair but I want to be sure it won't happen again. I expect it will but I want to make sure they will repair it if it does. Needless to say, there was a part rattling around inside it. I understand it was something to do with the drive mechanism. I bought a Sony digi cam a couple of weeks ago for half the price and its brilliant. SC.
I have also experienced this problem twice since buying the camera. The first time I took the Camera back to Ricoh... They fixed it, but put the lens in upside down. The camera again has died with the lens out. Any Ideas?
This has happened to me a couple of times. It appeared when the camera was getting a lot of use and it wouldn't turn off - it was jammed on. I had to leave it a few minutes and not touch it - turn it off, then it was ok. I think it was overheated!
