Question about Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player
EVERYTIME I TURN MY MP3 PLAYER ON IT FREEZES AND I HAVE TO PRESS RESET FOR IT TO TURN OFF
Freezing on the Philips GoGear range can often be caused by r
protected (DRM) tracks.
If you have copies of the tracks on your PC, go to the folder in which they are stored in Windows Explorer or My Computer.
Whilst viewing tracks within a folder:
Click on view ----> details
Right click on any of the headings which have appeared in the right hand window and select protected.
Each file will be listed with a yes or no under the Protected heading.
Any files listed as yes will cause the player to freeze.
To test the player restore it from Philips Device Manager and re-load it with non-protected files.

If you find that the GoGear will not load the firmware upgrade, then:
1) Backup all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new
You will now be able to load the upgrade
Also, if the Philips Device Manager says that your device is already updated with the latest software, then go to: www. usasupport. philips. com,and enter in your model number, HDD1630/17, on the next page select HDD1630/17 (not "17B"), on the next page click on software and drives, and click on Firmware Upgrade Software - this will ensure that your player really has been given the most current firmware upgrade

I would recommend you to get the firmware upgrade on the device..that usually happens when your device firmware is corrupted...If after you done a firmware upgrade your device doenst work properly contact the manufacturer...

Everytime i turn on my mp3 player on it freezes and i need to reset it but i dont have a reset button on it

In my opinion you will have to upgrade firmware of your player. How to do it you can study on this website and download the Sansa Firmware Updater software also.
Please read and do these all, and I hope your player will work fine again.
