Could be either a bad lid switch or a bad water valve. Set the timer dial to SPIN and turn the machine on. If it spins the lid switch is OK. If it does not spin the lid switch must be replaced. Next, set the timer dial on a wash cycle and set the water temperature knob to COLD water. If it fills, the lid switch is bad. If it does not fill the water valve is bad or the cold screen filter is clogged. If the COLD does not fill, turn off the cold water faucet. Remove the cold water hose from the machine water valve and check for a clooged screen. If it does not fill with COLD water and the screen is clear, replace the water valve.
