Driver Malfunction, completely baffled

This laptop has been pretty well maintained in the two years that I have had it. About a week ago I cut it on and I noticed that the menu bar had changed, it then said biometric reader not connected, audio device not supported. I tried the wireless and it did not work, I tried to use the USB ports and they did not work, even some of the windows services do not seem to work either.

I then ran a full virus scan, spyware, and cleaned out temporary files. All was well here. I found a system diagnostic tool and it showed that the audio driver was not detected.

Today I was told to try and create a system recovery disc, that program comes up with an error message when I try to use it. So as of now I have no way to restore the harddrive and restart from scratch.

Where do I need to start to fix this, I dont think it is a hardware issue but I cannot rule that out.

I need this computer for school so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and have a happy new year.

Thank you too so much for your time. On top of all the aformentioned problems, here is what makes it worse. My system restore only goes back till Dec. 31st even though I had it on all along. It was still messed up then.

Also, the same year toshiba put a program on the computer to make your own system restore discs....that program does not even work on mine.

However, I think what I need to do is just ask for one of those discs from toshiba.

Are you running XP? Have you tried the built in XP system restore? If not try this:

Start->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore

Pick a date before the problems began to occur and give it a try. If it does not work I would try running System Restore in Safe Mode next. Do boot into Safe Mode reboot and beginning F8 every second or so. A menu will come up giving you the opportunity to boot into Safe Mode.

Assuming neither of these work, I would next try booting into Safe Mode and doing the following:

Start->Run

type chkdsk /f in the box and click OK.

Did the laptop come with Installation CD's? If so, worst case you can just start an entirely new installation. You'll want to back up all your documents to an external hard drive before you do this as everything would be lost.

There may be no easy solution to your problem. That's why lots of times people are hesitant to make suggestions because then they potentially get a bad rating. I don't get paid for these suggestions. It's a strange hobby I know, but I like trying to help. If any of this information is helpful I hope you'll rate this positively. If nothing I've suggested helps then please ask for more help before you give a bad rating. Thanks, and good luck.

Have you tried turning the temperature down. If so and still have problem shut breaker off, let cool completely and then drain the tank by connecting a water hose to it. Sediment tends to build up on the bottom. When finished disconnect hose, turn valve closed, let tank completely. Fill before turning breaker on.

My suzuki gsxr 1000 k3 will start then cut out six times before it runs properly on its own in the cold

Instructions
  1. Take Down
    • 1 Park the motorcycle on the kickstand or center stand and allow the exhaust pipes to cool completely.
    • 2 Refer to your Suzuki service manual and organize the metric tools needed to remove the baffle. On newer models, it may be necessary to remove the tailpipe section to modify the baffle. On older models, you may be directed to remove a bolt that secures the baffle in the tailpipe.
    • Follow the procedure given in the manual and remove the tailpipe section or slide-in baffle using the appropriate tools. Save any brackets or bolts. Place the tailpipe or baffle on a workbench.
    Tailpipe Baffles
    • 4 Hold one end the tailpipe up to a light and look inside the other end. Depending on the baffle, you may see very little light or none at all. Modifying the baffle is a matter of opening up areas in the baffle.
    • 5 Chuck a 1/4-inch drill bit in an electric drill. Use a bit extension if necessary to reach deep into the tailpipe with the drill bit.
    • 6 Place the tailpipe on a workbench. Use a towel or rags to prevent scratching the finish. Insert the tip of the drill bit into the tailpipe and drill a 1/4-inch hole in the baffle.
    • 7 Hold the tailpipe up to the light again. Determine the number of additional holes you want based on the purpose of the modification. Drill additional holes in the baffle if needed.
    • 8 Stand the tailpipe on end and tap it on the workbench to clear the debris from drilling out of the baffle. Make sure all debris is cleared out before reinstalling the tailpipe on the motorcycle.
    Slide-In Baffles
    • 9 Secure the outer end of the baffle in a bench vise with the baffle extending to one side. The outer end has the threaded hole where the bolt was removed to take the baffle out of the exhaust pipe.
    • 10 Measure the length of the baffle and divide it by four. You modify a slide-in baffle by cutting off a one-quarter section at a time using a hacksaw. Mark the baffle at the one-quarter point and cut the first section off the end.
    • 11 Reinstall the baffle in the exhaust pipe using the saved bolt and the metric tool.
Start the motorcycle and determine if the modification produced the desired result.
    • 12 Allow the exhaust pipe to cool completely before removing the baffle for further modification. Most likely, cutting one or two quarter sections will give you the result you want. Avoid cutting too much off the baffle, or it will be useless.

HI. Tyre life is very variable depends on road surface, lenght of time in the sun, weight of driver, and amount of use. As for batteries, I have seen batteries last for only a few weeks, and I have seen others last for 7 years. Batteries do not like sitting around not being used. They need to be used, but not overused, to maintain their condition.
Good luck. Neil.

Ps3 won't cut on green light appears then yellow light then it flashed red

It's a power/motherboard problem. Happened to me 2 weeks ago. Call Sony and get them to repair it. Pretty much your only option. It'll be free if you've bought the PS3 in the past year and still have the receipt, however if you don't it'll be $150 bucks.
