I wonder, can the MSI MS-6577 motherboard support an intel Pentium 4 processing chip on it. It has an intel Celeron chip at present, so I would like to upgrade, if I can. Perry.

Celeron d 2.66 ghz saupot

'Saupot'?

Apologizes that English is the only language I am fluent in.
I'm assuming the above word is 'Support'.

You wish to know if the MSI 945GZN3-L motherboard, will support one of the Intel Celeron D processors, that are rated at a maximum frequency rate, ('speed') of 2.667MHz?
(2.66GHz rounded off)

1) http://www.msi.com/product/mb/945GZM3.html

2) Specifications:

"Supports Socket 775 for Intel P(entium)4 5xx, or 6xx models.
Intel Pentium D 8xx and 9xx models
Intel Celeron D processors "

The MSI 945GZM3-L motherboard will support Intel Celeron D processors, that have either a 533MegaHertz Front Side Bus, or an 800MHz FSB.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_celeron_microprocessors#Celeron_.28single-core.29_3

Supports;
Intel Celeron D model 330
Intel Celeron D 330J
,and;
Intel Celeron D 331

They all have a 533MHz FSB. (Front Side Bus)

Specs on this cpu process

MicroStar International (Inc) Support > 865PE Neo2-P Platinum Edition (MSI MS-6728) Main Support page,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/865PE-Neo2-P-Platinum-Edition.html

Click on Specification
(Overview / Specification / Download / Support / etc)

CPU (Processor) Support;

1) Intel Pentium 4 processors that have;

A) Use a Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_478

B) Northwood Core, or Prescott Core

C) Front Side Bus (FSB) of 400MegaHertz (400MHz) for Intel Pentium 4 processors that are based on the Northwood Core.

D) FSB support of either 533MHz, or 800MHz, for Intel Pentium 4 processors based on the Prescott Core.

Processors that have an 800MHz FSB can be used, that have UP TO a 3.6GHz frequency rate. ('Speed')
Indication that higher 'speeds' can be supported. (Overclocking?)

Now let's look at Intel Pentium 4 processors, that are based on the Northwood Core, and fit a Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessors#Northwood_.28130.C2.A0nm.29

(Front Side Bus = FSB
The M/Ts listing means MegaTransfers per Second.
Believed to be a more accurate method of stating the FSB, than MHz.

MegaHertz
Mega = 1 Million
Hertz stands for Cycles per Second. Was named after a man with the last name Hertz.
Example; 400MHz = 400 Million Cycles per Second )

Intel Pentium 4 processors based on the Prescott Core, and utilizing the Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_4_microprocessors#Prescott_.2890.C2.A0nm.29_2

sSpec Number will be on the processor, as well as the Part Number.

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium_4/index.html

Scroll down for photos.

CPU support can be attested to looking at the specs for the motherboard chipset, on your motherboard.

The motherboard chipset is an Intel 865PE chipset.
Intel 82865PE northbridge chip, and an Intel ICH5 southbridge chip.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4_chipsets

Scroll down to 865PE in the left column.

The part number on the Intel ICH5 southbridge chip, is Intel 82801EB,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Southbridge_8xx_chipsets

The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset, handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Processor (CPU), Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

HIGH-speed graphics is the AGP technology, or PCI Express technology.

Using a graphics card in a PCI slot, or using Integrated Graphics; is NOT high-speed graphics,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

The Slower capabilities of a computer are handled by the Southbridge chip.

If this is a question of what CPU is on your motherboard at present, and the motherboard is in a working computer, suggest use the free tiny program CPU-Z from CPUID.com,

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Need to know how to download, install, and use CPU-Z, post back in a Comment.

Dear sir intel 845 , MS-6714 ver:1 per processor intel pentium 4,2.40ghz/1m/533,SL86Fcosta rica support or not thanks Narendra

Your board is MSI, you can accsess their website here;
http://us.msi.com/index.php
You can get downloads and have them scan your system with their "live eye". It has Intel 845GV and ICH4 chipsets and Realtek ALC650 with AC97 codec for sound, It also has Realtek LAN. It can use Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron processors, up to 400-500 MHz. This is Intel's site:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
I will also give you Realtek's site:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/
I'm not sure what you are looking for but, I hope this helps you.

Evo d510 small form factor with 1.79ghz processor what other size of processor can i put in

The Compaq Evo D510's motherboard has a Socket 478 processor socket, and uses an Intel 845G motherboard chipset.

This is information on the Socket 478 processor socket,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_478

As you can see the processor socket has the holes, while the processor has the pins.
478 socket holes.

Only Intel processors that fit into a Socket 478 processor socket, can be used.
Intel Celeron or Pentium 4.

Motherboard Chipset:
The motherboard chipset consists of the Northbridge chip, and the Southbridge chip.
Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit.

The Northbridge chip handles the high-speed processes, while the Southbridge handles the low speed processes of a computer.

The Northbridge handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and any high speed graphics.

(AGP and PCI Express being high-speed graphics.
Any graphics adapter card inserted into a PCI slot, or Integrated Graphics {On-Board), is a slow speed process. Handled by the Southbridge chip)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

[CPU stands for Central Processing Unit, or for short - Processor)

This is information about the Intel 845G chipset,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Pentium_4_Chipsets

Scroll down on the left until you come to -
845G
Read across.

The Nothrbridge chip is the Intel 82845G.
The Southbridge chip is the Intel ICH4.

As you can read looking across, and at the top of the chart, the 845G will support processors with;

1) Celeron, Celeron D, and Pentium 4 processors.

2) Up to a 533MHz FSB. (533MegaHertz Front Side Bus)

(Pentium 4 processors are better than Celeron.
The Celeron was designed as a budget processor.
'Celey's' generally have half of the L2 cache, that a comparable Pentium 4 has)

I felt listing this information in this manner, would help you can make an informed decision, as to what processors are compatible with the Evo D510 motherboard, instead of just stating, "Get this processor".

I will include a link of a website I found some time ago, that sells Pentium 4's with these parameters, at a very reasonable cost.
