I have many years of experience with Canon scanners and I think I may be able to help you with your problem.
On that particular model of scanner there is a micro switch to verify the top half of the scanner is closed. On the top half of the scanner the part that flips up you should see a peice of plastic towards the front protruding downward I belive on the right hand side towards the front of the top half but on the side of it. If its not there then it has broken off, if you can find it you can glue it back on with super glue. If that peice is there then look straight down on the same side of the scanner that peice is on you will see a small opening and you may see a small peice of silver metal. That is where the micro switch sits and the plastic peice on the top activates that switch. If the switch doesnt get activated then the green light blinking problem will occur. To replace that switch or adjust it you will need to remove the covers from the scanner the back cover first with I belive has 5 screws in the back. There is a tab on the bottom of the scaner that needs to released so you can remove the side cover, you will see a square hole towards the front of the scanner on the bottom. Use a very small screw driver to push the tab in to release the cover. Take your time doing all this because you will need to reassemble the scanner once you make the repairs to the micro switch. If you have any other questions let me know and I hope this helps you out with your problem.
test the power supply to the scanner also test the leads that attach from the power supply to the scanner if its connected to a computer you might have to uninstall it then reinstall it this applies the driver aswell you can do this
control panel admistrive tools, computer management, device manager scroll down you should see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or ports(com&lpt)ECP printer port right click update driver hope this helps
try this Turn on the scaner (diode is blinking), then run aplication DS Dual3 After start application you sould hear the transport mechanism test. The green diode should light permanently (important). Push deeper the holder.
Dear kappa,
It is the problem related "Alignment of cartridge"
your printer is working properly, I am suggesting a method, with the help of this method you will never get test page until you lift out your cartridge from your printer.
When next time printer print a test page, take it and put it into the scanner, remember the printing area should be the side of mirror and the printer prints on the above side of the paper should be left side of the scanner. And press scan button, you will see the green light will be blink and a voice of scanner you will hear. After 30 seconds light will stop blinking,
Next time when you will turn on your printer, it will not print test page.
