Hi there....i accidentally stepped on my laptop and the screen looks liks its cracked....the actual screen isnt cracked it just looks like it...kinda looks like you can see the inside of it...HELP!!!!
Re: Hi there....i accidentally stepped on my laptop and...
Yup, its cracked. The actual LCD (liquid cristal display) is inside the protective plastic casing and that is supposed to help keep it from being damaged. It has to be replaced..

The first place I would look is to the screen lighting mechanism. To prove the display is actually working, you should be able to catch a reflection of very dim images on the screen in bright light.
Hope this is of some use to you.

If your net book cover accidental warranty then you can replace your screen for free but if it not cover with accidental warranty then you know the answers. In your case it is called mishandling and it does not come under any normal warranty.
Your LCD/monitor is cracked from the inside. There are several things that can
cause a screen to crack from the inside. The two most common are
pressure on the screen or dropping the
machine. Sorry, but it is irreparable. You need to buy a replacement.
First remove the battery from te laptop. Locate all the screw covers (in the front side) with the watch maker screen driver. There might be four of them. Once you remove the screw. covers, remove the screws and remove the front bezel. You can now separate eh front bezel. Locate the screen assembly. Remember, there might be laches. So, be careful not to break them. You will see the frame scrwes after this with the vedio cable quite visible. Just remove them to find the invertor. Thats it.. You have removed the LCD screen.
Hi Nate,
The same thing has happened to me before.
Well, once you drop your laptop a lot of things could go wrong. From a broken driver to a cracked screen. I believe you broke your bulb. And the cells of your laptop are kinda messed up we can say. Yes, this is fixable but will take time. I hope everything goes better!!
