I have recently installed Kaspersky Internet Security, I don;t know if this is part of the problem but...
After putting my laptop into standby the wireless card will not find my
wireless network saying that no wireless networks could be found at
all. I have tried restarting the device but to no avail so I have been
forced to restart the laptop which resolves the problem. However, as
you can appreciate this is not an ideal situation.
On a separate note, the wireless card switches itself off if the
laptop is started with the power adaptor plugged in or if the power
adaptor is plugged in the wireless switches off and has to be turned on
again with the wireless switch on the laptop. The laptop is an Acer
Aspire 5670.
Thanks
Kaspersky Internet has a firewall built-in you have to turn it off...

Did this work for you? If not go to device manager, wireless card, and check and see if the computer is set to turn off the device to save power under power management
