hitachi 51f59a lost picture powers up and can hear sound amp come on when turned on and off but no picture

You may have a shorted horizontal output transistor. This transistor drives the high voltage transformer which in turn drives the picture tubes. High voltage can be dangerous so you may want to have a repair shop check it out for you. Also have them apply a bead of silicon around the anode caps on the picture tubes. This will prevent high voltage leaking out and causing the horizontal output to short again. Thanks
