using the standard sony lead to attach to computer and its not charging or even being recognised as anything being plugged in. help?

Hello
Well, if the computer does not recognize that anything has been plugged in, there might be a fault with the cable itself, or the connection unit of the device you want to access. I would try plugging it into one of the other USB ports at the back of the pc and see if the computer responds differently to the insertion of a cable. Hope this can help.
