Fridgidaire Gallery Model#CFES387CFS6

The little L latch meant to hold the oven shut while self cleaning is stuck to the right and now the door is locked with the oven door open.
Already tried to cut the power to the unit via the breaker thinkin it would reset to no avail.

When i put oven into clean oven door latch keeps locking and unlocking door never goes into clean

You didn't specify the make or model number of your oven, but most self-cleaning ovens have an electrical interlock that holds the cleaning latch in the closed position while the oven self-cleans.

The most common issues with this function are a mis-positioned micro switch, a bad micro switch, a mis-adjusted latch pawl (the piece on the latch that engages the micro switch) or a problem with the control board.

Other possibilities include loose or corroded/burnt wiring or other poor connections.

Self clean and oven light

The latch is stuck halfway! Take your finger and push the latch all the way to the right until the oven light goes out. Now hold it there and press the self clean button. Let it start up for a few seconds then hit the off/cancel button and let go of the latch. It should hear it made a winding like sound as it goes back to it starting position.

Oven sef clean latch locked but door is open and I cannot clos it. I inadvertantly urned it to self clean and openedthe door and the latch is locked in self clean position. How do I release the latch so I...

Ok. Open the door and find the oven light switch(es) (some models had two switches). Press the switch(es) in and see if the latch goes back to the home position. If not enlist a volunteer to turn on the self clean cycle while you are holding the switch(es) in. Just after the self clean starts have them hit cancel and wait until the lock comes back to it's "home" or unlocked position.
Good luck!!

How do I self clean my gallery series fridgidaire?

Some of the self cleaning ranges require that the door be locked before the self-cleaning cycle will work. If your oven door has a manual locking lever then make sure it is completely latchedthen press the self-clean button. Also make sure the dooris completely closed because if there is not a manual latch then it will be a auto latching system. If not then there could be a problem with the button on the control panel for the self cleaning option.

F90 Maximum oven door unlock time exceeded.
F91 Maximum oven door unlock attempts exceeded.
F92 Maximum oven door open time exceeded.

1. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check the wiring between EOC & Lock Motor Micro Switch.

2. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Replace the Motor Door Latch assembly if necessary.

3. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check for binding of the Latch Cam, Lock Motor Rod & Lock Motor Cam.

4. (F90, 91, 92, 93 & 94) Check to see if Lock Motor Coil is open. If open, replace Lock Motor Assembly.

F90 is a door lock code, Try this...

then while holding in on the oven door.

Oven door stuck on locked!

E1-F5 indicates door lock motor has probably failed.....Self clean on many ovens can be a self destruct mode. Door latch motors, sensor probes and even the electronic controls can be destroyed by this operation. Suggest oven cleaner method next time...

On many freestanding stoves the lock motor is located in the right rear (looking from the front) with a long rod connected to the lock. Remove the motor and unhook the rod from the motor cam. If it is a built-in over, sometimes bending a coat hanger into a hook and sliding from the right side into the lock you can unlock the door.

Jen air locked latch after cleaning

I finally got my oven to work properly by shutting off the breaker and resetting the main clock. Cured the always locked problem as well as the beep twice when self cleaning.

Have to repeat this every few months since the problem seems to come back.

Problem codes for self-cleaning ranges

My experience (Kenmore Ultra-bake Model 665-72002102) was that E1 F5 meant an error with the oven lock switch. In our case, the latch was partly stuck from food or other debris. Just moving the latch back and forth loosened the scale that was making it stick, and it worked again.

Self cleaning oven door locked before I got the door closed.

Try holding in on the door switch while resetting the clean cycle.
This should rotate the latch. Once the cycle starts, cancel it. The latch should go to the unlock position.

You will have to hold in on the door switch during all these steps.

If this does not work, post back with the complete model number from the oven and I will see what else I can come up with.
