Question about ViewSonic VA1912w 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Lines? My display is showing lines going from the top of the screen to the bottom while my desktop is visible. It seems to be while any type of picture is visible especially ones that take up the entire screen. I'm not a computer genius but I do know that the video card that I'm running isn't as up to date as this monitor. Any suggestions?

Re: Lines?

If this is a new to you monitor, then you may need to update the video driver for this model. You can do that online from Viewsonic's website.

Good luck, and let me know if you are able to fix the problem, or provide more info!

Corrupted display on LCD monitor.

Those lines on the right side show sign of damaged T-CON board, part of the LCD panel assembly, nothing you can do but getting the new LCD panel. The bright section on the screen looks like the backlight lamp reflector got out off the guide channel.
Sorry for bad news.

Pink/purple vertical line visible

Anytime you see visible lines running through a display, this is usually an sign of an eminent screen failure. It could stay that way for weeks or the lines could multiply and then it could fail. There is no repair for this, only screen replacement.

Verticle blue lines, left side

Your Display cable (inside your monitor) needs to be replaced.

I would look on ebay to try and find the part and then take it to a local tech to replace it for you as I would not recommend anyone take apart a monitor (LCD OR CRT) if you had never done so before.

OR, Buy a new one.

Heavy white lines accross the screen

Replace it, it is going bad. I could tell you what would cause this such as bad driver IC etc. but bottom line is its five years old, you got your moneys worth out of it so bite the bullet and get a new one.

Distorted white lines running across screen

Disconnect the monitor from the computer and turn the monitor on
it will display a diagnostic colorbar are the lines still there.
if not they are likely a cable or video card.
if they are still there have a tech evaluate the monitor.
