A handyman in my apartment asked if he could use the grinder which had been working fine. When I went to use it afterwards the top plastic (the chamber where you pour the beans) would not lock into the base. Also, the motor wouldn't turn on. 2 months after this happened, I was cleaning out my shelves and almost threw the whole thing out, but on a whim, I plugged it in, turned it on and the motor was working. I then tried to attach the plastic chamber, but it would not lock into place. So, if I hold the plastic piece in place, I can grind coffee. I don't know whether the base or the top piece is broken, but was wondering if the top piece is replaceable. I would also like to know if there is a way to determine which part is broken.

I have used my Starbucks Barista Burr Grinder for just short of 10 years. Last week when grinding a different ground it stopped flowing coffee into the container. I cleaned it and am still having problems getting it to drop the coffee in the grind container. It is getting compacted below the burr and not going down the shute. Any ideas?
