Klore; There is a switch under the LCD; make sure it is set to "on" position. Here's a link for the manual; http://www.goaiptek.com/manuals/manual-pkdv51.pdf
zoly; Sounds like your unit is toast. The flash on the main board has been deleted. I simply do not think that can be fixed, but HANG ON TO IT! I have been wrong many, many times. Research ways to reflash the unit; not very easy with today's save-a-buck manufacturing methods, but dang worth a try. I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

Not sure what it was soaked in, but if you dry it out, your phone may function again. Don't try to turn it on right away; remove the battery. Don't use a heater or anything hot to dry it out. Use compressed air to get as much moisture out as possible. Then put it and the battery in a container of uncooked rice overnight.
Remove the battery while the camera is at the "on" position then put it
back. Press the forward or rewind button then stop. This should solve
your problem. It works for ither JVC owners. Are you try with other new tape?
Turn's out that JVC Does that to protect your camcorder some do it some
don't because there might not be a problem and JVC will pay a tech to
unlock this mode under waranty and you can get extended waranty by
calling satis fusion at 1-888-269-6432 even your item is out of waranty.
try to reset it by taking out the battery for a few min. then put the battery back in an turn it on. if that don't work go to www.canon.com click on Brochures & Manuals an down load the manual for your canon free.
this is what i did, and it worked perfectly. go out and get a sd card * any gig u want* as soon as u put the sd card into the camera, FORMAT IT!!!!. do that before u do anything else. don't format it on ur pc or laptop. format it on the camera. if u do that it will work perfectly. i don't know why it wasn't in the manual to format sd card first. but if u try to take pics first, that will mess up the entire system and u will be assed out a sd card. it took me 3 sd cards to figure this out. the cards worked fine but not in the camera. then i formatted it on the camera first and it works fine. the other sd cards i use for other things, i won't discard them but they won't work in the cam. but remember again GET NEW SD CARD AND FORMAT THE CARD IN THE CAMERA FIRST.
