If you are experiencing a keypad issue or other keys are not working. I would suggest to buy a new keypad because the old keypad might not able to reach the mother anymore. By replacing it a new keypad everything will just work fine.
may first check the keypad, then the keypad matt/membrane, and also the interface of the keypad... if everything is good, then the keypad IC maybe the problem that may require a cellphone technician to repair this...
You can manually lock the keypad by holding down the A key for a second or two, but in order to unlock it again you'll have to press the lock key, so if it's not working, you won't be able to unlock the keypad.
If you're not planning to replace or fix your BlackBerry, I'd suggest getting a holster or cover for it, so you don't have to worry about it being locked.
I fitted a new keypad on my 960i some time ago (funnily enough for the same reason - no.7 not working!) and I'm pretty sure you will find that when your new membrane arrives, it is a complete unit with buttons and contacts all enclosed together, connected to the phones' circuit by a ribbon with a tiny plug on the end.. hope this helps....
the keypad was not properly placed or it might be defective. I suggest u visit "nokia care" (their service centre) and get ur keypad replaced or adjusted. They will do it for free if ur phone is still in the warranty period. Best of luck.
If you have already brought your phone to a service center and got it fixed for the first time, I suggest you bring again the phone to the same service center and discuss with him what happened. He should cover that error again.
