Water pump on a 2002 chrysler sebring and now am ready to put the timing belt on , when i took the old belt off both the cam gears turned slightly towards each other , please help , thank you

first up --is the timing belt going back in the same direction you took it off
if you don't know then get a new belt as an old belt running in the wrong direction to which it was running will fail very quickly and if that happens there is valve bending problems
next the timing marks face each other exactly( 9 and 3 oclock)

Having problems putting serpentine belt back on a 2003 525 2.5 liter bmw

Pop the dust cap off the tensioner pulley and grab it by the bolt inside the pulley. Then you can twist it against the spring tension to make slack.
Because the tensioner moves so far when there is no belt on it, some folks find it easier to slip the new belt over the top of the old belt, so you need to move the tensioner only a quarter inch or so to slip the new belt in between the old belt and the tensioner. Then, when the new belt is in place, you cut the old belt out. I have never tried it because I am usually replacing at least one tensioner bearing when I replace belts, but it sounds like it might work well.

Tricity Bendix AW 1200W drum not rotating in wash or spin cycles. It still goes through the whole program; fills heats & drains but with no drum action at all. It's about 4 years old & used daily....

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This sounds very much like the belt is broken or the motor is malfunctioning.
Belt first.
Belts are not expensive- sorry I do not know how much yours would cost- and are easy to be changed by a competent person:-
The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.

If it turns out to be the motor, it can be false economy to just have the brushes changed although financially very attractive. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished at the same time. It normally depends on how old the motor is and how much wear the commutator has had. New motors are not cheap, though. Ours for a Bosch cost GBP250 but it's your choice!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Drivebelt came off while on the highway (about 75 mph). Towed it home, went to replace belt and now both old belt (4 yrs old) and new belt (both 1025) are too long. Put on 1015 belt, topped off anti-freeze...

Hi, when a belt comes off, it's usually because of a bad bearing in one of the accessories or idler pulleys, or maybe your tensioner spring is broken. Remove the belt and check all pulleys for spin and play. It is also possible you lost an idler pulley and the new belt routing is not turning the water pump in the right direction. Check the routing and look for a missing idler pulley. Let me know if you are missing the routing diagram.

Can't get belt to alternator back on. belt tensor seems to be not enough give to allow the belt to loop onto all pulleys

If you are putting on a new belt would doubble check the size aginst your old one.If you are putting the old one back on the only reason it wouldn't fit would be that your tensioner is going bad.If the spring inside has worn a new grove due to extende use on a stretched belt you may want to replace it.I would say just use a breaker bar or a cheater pipe to try and get tinsioner to its full extended position.

Old (approx 30 years) gas dryer. It's been great.

The fron comes off. Two screws located toward the bottom front (where the front panel angles in) hold the front on. Then you need to remove the front bulkhead/duct work.

Putting the belt on the idler pulley is the trick. If you get this far and need more help, let me know.

Hi This is quite complicated but I'll try and simplify this for you:
If this is a Panasonic upright then there are two drive belts as you know. Once you take off the sole plate (where the beater bar is) by undoing screws and the beater bar is looking at you, you would have to take off the smaller belt motor pulley first before putting on a new larger drive belt. If the smaller belt is still intact and you only need to replace the larger belt, you'll still have to take off both belts to put on the new drive belt.
Motor pulley belt has to be taken off first then the old drive belt, then grasp the beater and slide on new larger drive belt before having to attach the motor pulley belt and then the larger belt onto the motor pulley. Once all belts have been attached ensure that the beater bar is pushed in correctly before you screw the sole plate back on.

Replace serpintine belt

You shouldn't need to most of the time all you need is a 15mm wrench. Use it by turning the spring tightener inward toward the center of the motor than the belt should come off. Also when you take it off make sure you know how the belt goes around the pulleys so everything will work together like normal. when putting the belt on you should use the wrench to turn the tightener back inward and slip the belt back on and make sure it looks just like the old one when its on.
