Problem for GE GSS20IEP Side by Side Refrigerator
GE SXS Fridge/Freezer
Good morning! I have a GE SXS Fridge/Freezer (Model # GSS20IEMD WW Serial MD258184) where the top half of the freezer is no longer cold and the fridge is slightly cold, but not ideal. I pulled the appliance out and vacuumed the coils behind it and I defrosted the appliance already, but that has not solved it. It is still running, all the lights are still on, but the fan in the upper part of the freezer is no longer blowing. It was serviced in 12/30/05 to replace central control board and in 3/3/06 to replace the fan motor. Is there anything I can do/ replace to solve the problem?

if the fan in the freezer compartment is not running theres a problem.
verify power to the fan motor, if present replace fan motor.
if not hopefully theres a wiring schematic/diagram so you could trace that circuit back to the control board and verify whether thats bad or not..

generally though if the fan by the compressor is running the fan in the freezer should also be spinning and have power..
by the way, it states in the parts listing that it is a dc motor
