Remote doesn't work (by 2 users)

Have new batteries installed and nothing. Is the remote sensor suppoed to be lit up? I see the sensor but it's black. Can't get it to work with a universal remote either. HELP!

Remote doesn't work...changed batteries....opened it up to see if any buttons had been pushed too hard....still doesn't work and sometimes the word "root" comes up on the Player.

GuruIf you take the screws out of the remote alot of times this will solve your problem, sometimes a button gets stuck from being pressed to hard and with it stuck down nothing else will work. If this doesnt solve your problem contact me for a replacement remote. Good luck
