The most common cause of no video is due to the vertical output section failing. If this is the case the TV will still have sound from the program that the TV is tuned to. If you do not have sound the TV may have a main power supply problem. To find out if the high voltage is still operating you can remove the rear cover and turn the TV on to see if the filaments in the picture tubes are glowing. A no high voltage problem will require some basis troubleshooting of the main power supply. In many of these TVs I find that the horizontal output transistor will short out and this will shut down the main power supply.

The picture has too much yellow but can't be fixed in colour balance

The problem is actually that certain types of florescent lights don't emit a consistent color through the power cycle. At times of lower voltage, they can turn yellow. What you are actually seeing with the yellow tint is that the camera happened to take the picture while the power was at the low point in the cycle, so the room was actually that color at the moment.

Samsung PS-50C91H 50" plasma no picture

If this set has a cable box, satellite box or even a receiver hooked up to it remove power from them and the set for a while and power back to see if a reboot cures this issue.

short of that someone who is willing and knows how to check things is going to have to look inside and test things, repair if not what I have suggested consists of replacing boards which can either fix the set or not and gets expensive.

Tv goes on and then picture and sound go off at same consistent time interval.....sometimes the screen is not fully illuminated...sometimes when the picture and sound go off, the power light...

There are two common possibilities that are causing this problem, dying power supply due to bad DC filter caps, or shorting out backlight inverter board, you will have to do in-depth troubleshooting to narrow down the problem. Please read my guide see the pictures so you can decide if you will want to DIY repair or not.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

I have a Samsung LN40A450 LCD TV that is only a year and a half old. I am getting no power to the tv only a consistent blinking red light and a audible clicking/beeping noise. What needs to be replaced?

I will explain how to:

  • Open the case of the LCD
basically in all LCD monitors have two circuit boards (power supply board and system board)
  • After you open you will see the two boards are

  • You see a board that has a socket for the power source. wrote that the board we're looking for (power supply board)
  • Remove all cables connected to the board and take out the board. (get noted before you unplug it)
  • Now you see it components on board, we looking for capacitor.(see picture below)

  • Looking for damaged capacitors, physically you will see a capacitor on the top like a bloated (see picture below)
  • Replace the damaged capacitor with the same value that you can see on the surface of the capacitor. (In this step you need any soldering tool)
My advice: replace capacitors with higher voltage, like 10V replace with 16V or 25V will be fine.

Digital camera Fine Pix

Does this happen all under the same lighting conditions, or in low or very bright light? If consistent light, do the pictures still seem faded or blurry on the screen of a computer? if so, the sensor might be damaged, and yes a new one. If they're ok (consistent) on computer screens, then the camera lcd might be loose or damaged which means its fine but give it away and get a new one if you can't handle shooting without relying on the lcd.
