I'm guessing you left it at the default IP address of and you go there using Internet Explorer and are asked for username and password. Is that right? The default username is blank and default password is "admin" with no quotes. If the defaults were changed then that won't do you any good. Your only recourse then would be to hit the reset button on the back of the router and hold if for a few seconds (briefly hitting it does not do a full reset, you need to hold it for a few seconds). This will restore the router to it's factory defaults and the address/password above should work.

I hope this helps. I don't get paid for this, I just like to help when I can. If you found this useful I hope you will give a positive rating. If this did not help I hope you'll ask additional questions.

Good luck and thank you.

Mc3100 find the wifi networks but can't enable the connection

I am working on the assumption that a laptop can correctly connect to the wireless network and only the MC3100 devices cannot connect.

FedEx and UPS had a similar issue as Windows CE wireless NIC's do not natively support higher level wireless encryption settings that modern wireless routers and Access Points can be configured with. This would result in an similar issue that you have described - the device can "see" the network as it is being broadcasted. When the authentication tries to occur, the two devices cannot "agree" and the device fails to connect.

If this is possible in your wireless environment, change the encryption settings on your wireless router or Access Point down from WPA2 or higher down to WEP remove encryption all together (for testing only).

It is very likely the MC3100 will be able to connect to a non-encrypted wireless network and a WEP enabled wireless network.

Once you get the device connected, try increasing the wireless encryption levels on the wireless network and see how high you can go and still have the MC3100 connect.

Hope this helps!

Enable a device on my linksys router

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

Linksys e3000 router. I am able to connect to the router without typing in a password. Under encryption on the computer its states "none". How do I enable encryption on the e3000? Thanks.

Open the web browser on your computer and type ''". This address will open the configuration page for the router. When you are prompted for a login name and password to begin configuration, just type 'admin' in both boxes to gain access.

Enable WPA2 Encryption
Under the wireless security tab, enable WPA2 encryption by ticking the appropriate check box. This will encrypt all data that is transmitted over the network. If the data is intercepted by anyone, they will find it to be garbled data. To enable this setting, check out the 'Wireless Security' tab. Choose a long passphrase to use and write it down exactly, because you will have to enter this passphrase on every wireless device you want to connect to to router. (laptop, Wii, BluRay, iTouch, etc)

Laptop can't connect to DSL-G604T

You need to configure your router and use WPA encryption so that all accessing device can connect to it.

The obvious reason why the dell laptop can't connect is because of the WPA encryption set. It is different compared with what your router is actually broadcasting: WPA2.

So you can choose one of the 2 things to alter. Change your router's WPA2 encryption to WPA or change your Dell's setup to WPA2.

Broadband wireless adapter limited connectivity issues

If the wireless security on the router is enabled, then the pre-shared key or encryption key on the router and PC should match.

To check the wireless settings, use the laptop to access the web interface of the router. Follow the steps below:

1 Using your Internet browser, go to http://dsldevice.lan or to the IP address of your router (by default:
2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.
3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.
4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under:
- Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID).
- Security, you can find the encryption.

On the PC wireless, access the wireless network connection. Select the SSID and then type the encryption key or pre-shared key.

Once the encryption key on the PC and router matches, then you should obtain an IP address and get online.

you have to check if you have the wep key enabled. when you put in the wep key, it should also be enabled so that your wireless network should say security-enabled wireless network. make sure to disconnect and connect again on your network after changing the settings to refresh your connection. hope this helps.

Wireless router

My suggestion would be to first disable any encryption on the router to make your wireless network simple first to try and troubleshoot these problems. check if any MAC or IP Address filters are active on the wireless router, you can either enter the IP address of the slingbox wireless adapter or its MAC address if you HAVE enable filtering, but again, try diagnosing without filtering or encryption enabled. Also ensure your slingbox wireless adapter has its settings set to 'automatically assign IP address (enable DHCP)' so it gets its address automatically.
