I have a reformatted hard drive in a Dell dimension 43000. Now on turning on I get NTLDR is missing message. If I use F2 or F12 to try & correct the set up the USB keyboard stops working so I am then unable to modify anything. Any ideas.
re-formatting the drive erased the loader from the drive..
NTLDR is the boot loader that comes with all versions of windows.
You will now have to reinstall everything, including the raid driver if this is on a SATA drive..
Have you enabled USB keyboard support in the bios..?
You may have to use a PS2 type keyboard to do this..
try re-installing the operating system from the original disk, if you dont have the disk, there may be a recovery partition hidden on the drive.
If all else fails, either go to the compaq website and request a recovery disk be mailed out to you ( but dont hold out much hope as compaq dont like doing this), try and find the setup file on the hidden partition if it has one.. or, purchase your own copy of Windows and re-install it yourself. you may need to visit the compaq website to get all the drivers for the mainboard if they dont install with windows.
go to www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm for a faily good explanation of what may be happening..

Before upgrading to Firefox 3.0.15 I was able to download and view anything from my download library which is extensive and of great use to me. Since the upgrade to 3.0.15 and later to 3.5.5, I can no longer download and use any product. If I have to down grade to the previous 2.0 series of Firefox I will gladly do that to resume access to my download library. I cannot say for sure that the Firefox upgrade is the culprit, it just the timing is the same. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, LeRoy Wirz

Umax 2200 usb scanner & Vistascan 3.55u in Windows XP Scanner installs to the default XP scanning software, but I have not been able to install the scanner so that it works with the Vistascan software. I much prefer Vistascan as it is much more user friendly & offers more flexibility. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, new problem. My uncle has asked me to fix his iWin media player. It plays it all and has an inbuilt fm transmission to listen to his music through his stereo. However, he only had it about a week and the screen froze on the menu. Same problem over and over. I've tried upgrading the firmware from firmware I've downloaded but its not specific to iWin and now the screen just shows white. I'm aware that this company don't have the most magnificent reputation but really want to do this for my uncle as he's done so much for me. Anybody any idea what chip is in the thing. Cannot get the board out of the shell at all, think its superglued in! Any help would be great. Ps, its still possible to access the files stored on it through the computer and also it does still power up, its not dead yet!!!
