hello just bought a dlink router DIR615 I HAVE INSTALLED CORRECTLY BUT WHEN I TRY TO GET ONLINE MY MODEM I COULD NOT CONNECT

If you have not unplug the power to the modem and router then turn back on the router first then the modem most reviews forget to tell people turn off everything reboot modem router and computer for the DHCP to work properly the switch on cable modems only place the modem in standby mode you must turn off the power

Certain internet providers require your to manually enter your ip address, and dns. Although the dlink may be installed correctly it may not be installed to work with your internet provider. Check with your provider to be sure, some cable companies do this and alot of dsl providers do the same thing as well.
