Re: charging

Either plug it into your car or connect it via the USB cable to your PC. Either will work.

How long for a full charge?

From what I read in the manual, it takes 4-5 hours to charge from a 'flat' state (0% charge), and a full charge will last about 3 hours.

Here's a link to the manual.

And a link to a replacement charger if you need one (Title might only say 1200/1210 but it works for 2100)

My gps system does not charge when install dash board mount

does it charge via an AC charger? As most GPS units do better on an initial AC charge prior to being hooked up to DC.
Your charge circuit is possibly faulty, or the internal battery has collapsed and needs changing

Charging Garmin Nuvi battery for first time

The Garmin Nuvi 855 uses a Lithium-ion battery. It is a very clean system and does not need priming as nickel-based batteries do. The 1st charge is no different to the 5th or the 50th charge.

In other words there is no memory effect with these batteries and it should be safe to charge it for as long as you like on the first charge. I would estimate 4 hours will give you a full charge if you wish to do this from the outset.

Cant use the garmin 350 while charging

The solution is really easy. Works in the car or usb charger or whatever.
Once you insert the car charger, wait till the pc connection picture comes.
Than unplug the car charger.
Re-insert it as soon as the picture goes off.
Voila. It is ready to use now!

Iniitial charge time for a lithium battery

I'd reccommend leaving it on charge overnight, that way it'll give the battery a chance to get a full charge.

The Device does not say if it is charging

It usually needs to be left for a while until it start recharging, a few minutes or so. If this does not solve anything then it would be best for You to bring it back for servicing.

The internal connection where the cord that charges the gps system will noe hold the cord connection and thus will not charge the systwm.

You might have the wrong charging cord which is why it might not fit or stay in for it to charge. All you need is to buy the right-sized cord.
