It sounds like you have a power supply problem. If you have some electronics background, take a look at the power supply and see if there are any caps that are bulging on top. That means there bad. Always replace with same values. Check all diodes,see if anything looks like its got hot or burnt. Trace back where the fan is soldered to the board. Try to fellow the traces to see what component they lead to, maybe a voltage regulator. Oh... do all this with it unpluged. If your not sure about doing this maybe you have a friend who knows a little about electronics and can replace components and solder. Well, I hope this is helpful.
