Re: No picture or sound
This generally indicates an issue with the backlight inverter loading the power supply. The inverter assembly is easily replaced in this panel and costs approx. $90-140 depending on your parts store. Please use caution when working with this component, it produces the very high voltages required to illuminate the screen.
Good luck to you.

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON?Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV.This will make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Your 7 blinks (error code) means that your 8.6 vdc in the power supply section is faulty. This was sense by the standy-by power supply's initial test. This voltage is easy to locate in the power supply board, each output voltage is written in the board itself. Concentrate in its regulator circuitry. Look for open fusible resistor, shorted transistor and leaky/dried capacitor. The unit is disable unless you fix this 8.6vdc fault.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
Flashing standby light is error sign that means TV got problem in its circuits and requires repair. Model and brand info will help to find out details of flashing error code and please also count how many times standby light blinking.
turn tv on picture comes up 2to3 seconds later tv blacks out then stand by red light flashes 4 times in a row repeatedly..can not turn on or off when stand by light starts flashing but before tv blacks out you can turn tv on and off repeatedly and picture and sound work. You have to unplug power cord for 30 seconds after stand by light comes on to get tv to turn on.
Mine just started something similar. When I turn it on, you get sound, the red light flickers, then before the picture comes on it cuts off. Sometimes I can spend an hour or more turning it on over and over again until finally the picture comes on. This TV is not old - only a couple years old and I spent alot of money for it as it was a more expensive model back then than they are now. Well, they don't make them anymore, but anyway it still cost more than a comparable plama HDTV. I think this really sucks!
