i have a whirlpool washer model#LSQ8520JQ0. everything works perfect except the spin function. it fills up and drains and also aggitates but it just does not spin??? it is not the lid switch we tested that already???

More than likely it is the clutch or transmisson. Since it drains and agitates we can rule out the motor, pump and coupler as well as the lid switch. The only things left (since the timer is activating the motor and causing it to drain) are the clutch and transmission. My guess is your clutch is wore out, in either case, it should go to a qualified repairman.
