My Kenmore HE2 Plus codes F24. What does it mean and how do I fix it. It works on the Clean Washer cycle. It works on the Rinse/Drain & spin cycle if you shut off the 2nd rinse.
On this model of HE washer, the F24 code indicates that the water temperature sensor is out of range (23 degrees to 217 degrees F). This usually indicates a bad thermistor (temperature sensor). A bad wiring connection or a failed control board could also cause this problem.
If you have the technical ability to safely access internal washer components, you may be able to repair this problem yourself. Diagnostic steps would involve unplugging the washer and checking the wiring connections between the thermistor and the control board. A resistance check of the thermistor would be needed using a volt/ohm meter.
