Dishwasher worked fine then one day it fills up with water but then it doesn't wash or make any noise except the click when the cycles change. It also dosen't drain. The timer works fine as does the heating element. What could the problem be?
I have the exact same problem. The difference is that it tripped the circuit breaker. I swithced the breaker back on thinking it was just a random surge or something and the dishwasher finished with no problem. Next time went went to do dishes tonight, the washer just filled up with water and then just sat there. Like the one above, the heating element works and the timer seems to be working fine.
Check the spade/lug wiring connectors under the unit at the motors They can work loose. These newer units only use the heating element for a short time. If you get it running again do not use tablet soap. Start your sink's hot water until its too hot to touch then start the washer, let the tank fill then open the door and pour in an additional gallon of hot sink water mixed up with liquid cascade soap. To get "Energy Star" compliance, They have made trade offs to use less water and energy. When mine is running it still doesnt clean very well at all. consider installing a small R.V. water heater under the sink or nearby.
Also make sure your drain hose is clear and has no kinks in it.
