Question about Acer Aspire 5600 Series 5630-6951 Laptop

Orbicam problem i have acer orbicam in my acer aspire 5634 suddenelly i found it not working even i reinstall the same driver and newer one several time each with a restart ??could u plz help how can i adjust it ?!!

There is a utility bar that you can install that lets you change the default application folder:

** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that
folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.

If that does not work then do this:

Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will
"Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say
extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the
right side of the screen, then look for Bison driver or (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) you have then click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions. Then repeat steps above and instead of driver choose Bison (or your model which can be found in device manager - control panel - system - device manager - Imaging devices) Utility

It really bugs me that Acer is so secretive about their help in the US, and if you finally reach a live person, they may be extraordinarily ignorant. Sony, HP, and Dell all have live people who will help you correct your problem. Sony is best, in my opinion--they don't even have foreign accents, and will take ovorbicam problem - list.gifer your computer if necessary to fix it. Acer hides their 800 number for help in the US, but you can demand it! Using their automated system online to find an answer is like getting an answer from Microsoft--worse than useless. I currently have an Aspire 5630, and the people who first answered my calls were so ignorant in their responses that I had to demand to speak to a supervisor--who authorized sending my computer to them for a very complex software mess--never worked well. This is a common problem in the Aspires, so they should know what to do.

    OK, you don't want to ask Acer. Have you tried using system restore to a date when your Orbicam worked?

My orbicam is not working


You should go online and download the updated Driver for the orbicam (google on orbicam). Reinstall it, restart the computer, and then try the cam again. There may be something in Skype that helps config your cam.

I uninstalled my acer orbicam and need to reinstall program help


If you uninstalled via device manager:-

Unplug Orbicam

Right Click My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager

Plug in Orbicam

Click the top one in the list (Your Computer name)

Click Scan for hardware changes (small icon at top of device manager next to help button

Windows redetects any new hardware , hopefully it should find the camera , thenn you are prompted for device drivers :- Select automatically and see if it finds it

If not , download the drivers you mentioned above , then specify where the drivers are in the hardware wizard and it should reinstall everything then orbicam should work again

Whenever it displays this try and reboot your system and if the problem persist, then t to reinstall the driver for the orbicam. good luckk

There are two software entities involved – the camera Drivers and the OrbiCam application itself – and BOTH need replacing/updating to fix this problem.
The new driver and a new version of webcam application (below) seem to fix the issue.
The correct files to download are:
Acer Orbicam driver (Bison)
Acer Orbicam Bison utility 1.0.0.13

These can be found here under the MS Windows Vista drop down menu:

In order to fix the problem, you must download and install them both to make the Orbicam work correctly.

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW IN THE SAME ORDER:
1. remove the installed OrbiCam application and reboot if required;
2. install the new driver (preferably with the “driver update” wizard from Device Manager)
3. update the Orbicam application 1.0.0.13

After this, the webcam should function properly, even if the original Orbicam icon disappears.
To check everything is working OK run LiveCa07.exe or BisonM07.exe that are located in the c:\windows\bisonxxx\ folder or simply run Messenger

just double check that you havent loaded the Bison camera driver or the Vista driver as your system doesnt list the orbicam as being fitted, but you obviously have so go to the link below and download the logitech driver, as this is what i used http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/ftp/ftp.html
