RCA D52W19 power problem

2weeks ago tv shut off then after a couple of minutes you could turn
back on. Then yesterday 12/31 it turned off then had a burning smell.
called the repair tech.. any guess on what it might cost to repair? is
it worth it?

Thanks for the info.. Repair tech was here today and fixed also adjusted the convergence(sp) settings. It turned out to be the Horz Filler Cap. He installed a new one and fixed other loose parts- sodered (sp). Cheaper than i thought $225 that was with $85 service call..

Guruthese set is what i like to call VAlue sets.. you can get these for 800 at walmart. If you smell something theres a good chance its what is called a flyback transformer... i repair that averages about 300 to replace. Caution it may be more. DANGER, Do not attempt repair of set unless qualifed to do so tv generte high and leathal voltages.
