have a panasonic HDTV PT56WX53G, watching TV last night turned off, an hour later tried to turn on again. No sound no picture only flashing red light (five flashes) off, five flashes again. any suggestions? Have unplugged and turned on manually. Same thing five red flashes no sound no pic.

The standby light flashes a code. this tells the tech what cucuit to look for. the flashing light does indicate an internal problem. so seek a pro for this repair.

There is no fuse problem with the set if you have a flashing light you are recieving power (standby 5 volts fuse is ok) the problem may be with HOT or FBT. how many flashes does the standby light flash? Imight be able to tell you where to look.

The number of blinks indicate a fault in IC4511, however, an open R800 may cause the same symptom. if it is ic4511 replace the DG board. R800 is a 1.5k 5W fusable.
