I think you have problems with the digital main PWB.
If the power PWB failed, turn off and change the pilot ligth to red.

SOURCE: picture going off but sound still working, on lg42
It sounds like the unit is over heating?
Cheak that first or the is a short on the mainboard.
I do think that you must take it back if it is still under warrenty, if not take it to a tv repair shop so the can have a look at it for you

Could be the signal board has a bad cap, in this case it sounds like you are getting intermitten power to the inverters....when the tv goes down and of course you have audio....Shine a flashlight on to screen and see if you have a picture...look carefully. If this is the case..you have the above problem!

Samsung LN-T4661F - Sometimes when I turn on the TV I get sound but no picture. The screen stays totally black. I leave it on for about 30 minutes, then turn it off and back on and the picture will usually come on. I called Samsung about this, but the phone rep said there was no info about a known problem. So, I reported the problem and will work with Samsung to get it fixed. I hate to have the TV fixed, because sometimes you wind up with worse problems. I like the picture, etc., of the Samsung, but I am fed up with this happening.
I have the SAME issue with this TV. I'll turn it on, the picture shows for about a second, and then *poof* it's gone. I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but I turned the TV on, hit the "menu" button on the remote the second I saw a picture and that seemed to fix it.
Again maybe a coincidence but it's worked twice now...
I have a 15 month old T4661F with the exact same problem. Any solutions?
i spent $500 in a repair shop and it still has the same problem.
This is the 3rd time this has happened on my tv. It's about 18 months old and after not being on for a night or wkend .. come to turn on and sound, but no picture. We have extended warranty, so even though it fixed itself last time... I will not wait for this to happen again. Tomorrow I'll be at Best Buy......
This has happened to my 2 year old Samsung LN-T4661F three times now. The 10 minute rule did not work, nor did somebody elses recommendation of turning the AC on during humid weather. After reading about other people's experiences, will definitely call Samsung and go back to PC Richard's where I purchased this TV. Lucky for me I got an extended warranty.
