Question about SimpleTech (SP-U25/120G) 120 GB USB Hard Drive
I connected my simpletech 120 g to a desktop but did not add anything
and now I want to add something from my lap top--ibook G4 running OS
X--and the error message says"my document can not be moved because the
drive can not be modified". Is this only able to connect to one
computer? If so how do I restore to only use lap top?
Make sure both plugs are connected to USB ports, the closest plug is for data transfer and the send plug is for additional power to run the drive. The shorter the cabe the better.

It is possible that your drive is NTFS which is Microsoft specific and may not be written to by the MAC system. To find out you can hook it up to your Windows machine and open My Computer. Then right click on the drive and select Properties. Then beside File System you should see the type of drive.
If it is NTFS than you can right click on the drive and select format. When it asks you which type to format choose FAT32 and Quick Format. Then you can write to it from the MAC.
