Installed new dvd burner but no audio. Does this
Installed new dvd burner but no audio during playback. Does this need an audio cable to connect to motherboard?? I'm not sure if it has a separate sound card. I don't think so.

- Installed an audio cable as directed. DVD unit will play a music cd and play a dvd but still no audio with dvd. Music cd ok. Any idea what to do next? Thanks!!!Solution #1

It has the sound built in but you will find a small four pin green connector on the motherboard at the top, behind the ethernet and usb connectors at the back, you can see it at the top middle of this pic

plug a lead into that and then into the back of the dvd and it will give you sound on playback of dvd's
