Speakers not working

I recently had to reformat my computer. Now my speakers wont work. It is saying there are no audio mixers installed. When I go to the device manager and click on the question mark (it is labeled multimedia audio controller) and try to reinstall the drivers it says that it is not found. Is there a place I can go to get the driver for these speakers? They are model HT-3917 any help would be greatly appreciated

It's not your speakers that you need to get the drivers for, but rather the soundcard inside your computer.

you can approach this one of two ways- use the driver discs that came with your system, or download upgraded drivers from the soundcard manufacturer's website.

Downloading Drivers-

If you have a prebuilt made by a major manufacturer (such as Dell, eMachines, HP, Compaq, or Acer), and haven't added a soundcard since then, you will need to go to their website, and download audio drivers from there.

if you have a Custom-built (otherwise known as a Clone) computer, for example, one put together by a specialty computer store,- you will need to find out what your soundcard is, and go to the soundcard manufacturer's website. (if you are having trouble figuring out what the model is, look inside your computer- it should be labeled on the card itself, usually engraved into the circuit board, or on a white sticker)

If you are using an onboard (Integrated) soundcard, go to your motherboard manufacturer's website, and they should have a driver listing there.
