Try installing the driver which they gave along with the hardware or update your operating system...this should solve.

I am trying to reinstall windows xp prof but i keep getting the blue screen and the system keeps shutting down, i have tried a different hard drive but get the same error.

unplug all devices except the hard drive and 1 cd/dvd rom drive. disable the audio device and any other unnecessary devices within the BIOS and remove all pci cards. remove all but 1 ram stick, and try using different ram sticks, one at a time, while trying to boot. if it boots, with 1 ram stick, 1 hard drive and 1 dvd/cd drive then try adding/reenabling the other devices one at a time, until you find the device that keeps it from booting.

if your pc wont load with just a hard drive, cd rom and 1 stick of ram, then it is prolly trashed. if removing/disabling one of the other devices (such as the sound card or the modem card) allows it to boot, then you have found what needs replaced.

I have upgraded my pc.The 2 CD-DVD RW dr ,do not play or record

I advice you to remove one driver and look whether the other is working. Check both the drives this way. Once you find them working, you can get back to your old system, that is, how it is now. This is not based on any logic, but it may work as your problem may be that your newly upgraded system got confused with the two drivers.

DVD rom can;t read from first cd

I have had the same problem many times. Solutions can vary but the first thing I would do is use a cleaner/repair on the CD. The ones you use on movie DVDs will work. If this does not fix it, there might be lint or something on the laser light. I use one of the Q-tips on a long stick to gently clean the light area. If this does not fix it, I usually resort to installing another DVD. Or you may be able to use one of the external DVDs if your computer recognizes it as a boot device.
