Re: want to add a network adapter to my laptop

I sometimes have problems with cookies on the linksys site so

Go to support
(choose North America and US as appropriate)

Choose Linksys Windows Vista Support on left blue bar.

Choose Download Drivers toward center of page

the 5th line under adapters is USB200M V2 (version 2 of the adapter) - if this is your adapter's version (there is a version 1 of this adapter too) there appears to be a 32 bit Vista driver.

Explore the CD and check if it has drivers for Windows Vista. If none, check their website and look for any available drivers or see if it is already compatible with Windows Vista.

Set up cd

I would assume in this case that you are using Windows Vista.
this is because the CD will not load for Vista as all you need are the drivers off of the CD and the adapter plugged in
1. Put the CD in the drive.
2. Go to start search then type in device manager
3. Select it from the list.
4. Look for an exclamation point on one that would say network adapter. If the network adapter shows up click on the plus sign and if you see linksys there then it has been installed.

To use the adapter.
1. Go to control panel
2. Go to network and internet.
3. Go to network and sharing center
4. Go to manager wireless networks on the left side.
5. Click on add then add a network
6. Select your network from the list and connect.
7. If it asks for the network key that is your networks wireless password.

Usb network adaper wuth speedbooster

The USB200M should be version 2 to make it work with Windows Vista. You may verify it by looking for the exact model number on the adapter itself.

Click on the link then click on "32 bit" on USB200M v2 to download its driver for Windows Vista.
