It should be a menu option. Press [FUNCTIONS] button on remote to access on-screen menu, then press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to select 'other functions' and press [ENTER] or [OK] depending on your remote. Then using the menu, enter your disc name, etc., then with the UP or DOWN arrow buttons again, select [FINALIZE] - this should make (example DVD-R) the disc - compatible playback ONLY for all players. You are basically looking within the on-screen menu for 'finalize' option. You should get a popup dialog asking you if you would like to finalise the disc - if you choose 'yes' the operation will begin.
Do you have the instruction manual? if so, refer to page 30 - 32 - disc management. I hope this helps a tiny bit. If you don't have the manual, you can download it as a .pdf free.
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMRES10.pdf = download this if you do not possess the original operation instructions.
I have a dvd recorder with vcr it is a model # zv427mg9 we have lost our manual
and do not know how to finalize the disc. We have transferred video
from vcr to dvd and can't figure out how to finalize, please help?
Power on the camcorder. Push the disk navigation button, then the menu button. Scroll down until you find the option to finalize disk. Follow the instructions on screen. You will need to have it hooked up to the ac adapter inorder for it to work. Good Luck!
All units are different but you'll insert the disc to be finalized,
go into your disc menu, edit disc and you should see a finalize disc.
The disc will finalize (this usually takes a few minutes).
You will no longer be able to record on this disc so make sure you are finished with it!
If the disc is not finalized, you will not be able to play it in any DVD player other than the one you recorded it in!
I know it's not step by step but I hope this helps :)
