Keypad became sort of intermittent, had to key in numbers twice. Stopped working, replaced battery and it worked for one day. Swapped out battery but it still is not working. Is there a reset?

We have been using our Stanley Garage Door Opener Keypad for 3 years & today it stopped working.

We replaced the battery & it lit up but when we entered the 4 digit code the door would not open. The door will open using the opener in the car & the button on the inside of the garage but not through the keypad? Help Please!

If the battery isn't the problem, you might try this:

Enter a four-digit code on your keypad and press and hold the "Enter" button. Continue holding down the Enter button while someone else is on the ladder who will push the (red square button on our box) button in on the control box. After the light stops flashing, both persons can let go of the button. My husband and I did this and it worked!

I can close the garage door using the wireless keypad code, but i cannot OPEN the garage door using the same code. I have tried "lock" and "unlock" mode, and replacing the battery in the wireless keypad. The remotes work just fine. Help!

Have a craftsman garage door opener. Have had garage door opener for a few years. Problem is, replaced the battery and now remotes don't work period. Tried for 1 hour programming remote w/receiver and receiver light blinks about 4 times. After resetting w/remote, remote works inside garage but not outside.

A few questions...
Does the remote work very close to the garage, but not farther away - If so, then likely IS a battery problem....

Is the weather very cold where you live? - battery strength diminished quite a bit in the cold (try keeping the remote indoors for awhile & see what the results are). Also could be moisture in your unit - keep it inside & on a warm ( but NOT HOT ) surface for a day or 2

Did you get a good battery with an indicated shelf-life that is a couple of years into the future? (some 'dollar store' batteries are not very good). Also Alkaline batteries (if permitted by the user manual) are quite a bit more powerful than even the 'heavy duty' batteries of the same brand.

Finally, Is your unit at the garage powered electrically, or is it a battery also? If the garage portion is battery operated, try replacing that battery (in your receiving unit).

Hope at least 1 of these ideas helps...

We have a sears 1/2 hp garage door opener model 139.53674SRT2, manufactured in 9/98. Today the keypad stopped working. I replaced the 9V battery. Not sure if the keypad just died or if there is something...

Odds are it just died but you can try programming it just to make sure.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter. If this doesn't work it is dead. You can get a replacement keypad at Sears. Be sure to take the model number of the old keypad with you. It should be on the back of the old one. If not, take the model number of your opener. There are several models of keypads and all of them wont work with your opener.

Remote Control closes garage door but does not open

It sounds like a case of your keypad losing signal strength enough that it cannot transmit through the closed door. If a new battery doesn't do the job a new keypad will.

Keypad for chamberlin garage door opener stopped working

You need to reprogram the keypad. Press and release the learn button on the back of the motor. Within 20 seconds, press your four digit code into the keypad and press and hold the enter button until the lightbulb on the motor blinks once. You are finished.

DOOR LOCKS ON 2001 FORD F-150 lARIAT. 4-DOOR

First push the last two buttons on the right on the keypad and see if that locks all locks. If it does not then it sound like there is an intermittent transmitter switch that has gone out, Have a friend engage - disengage until you locate the sound you describe and locate that switch, Pull it and take it to the dealership. Replace it and you should be back in business.

Eypad problem

First try repeatedly pressing 8 key while at Home screen to see if problem is permanent or intermittent.
Pressing a number key at Home screen will cause the phone to display 8 if any press is recoginized/dialing.

If it is intermittent, then it is likely a hardware problem. Disassemble phone to keypad/phone printed circuit interface. Clean interface with alcohol or clean pencil eraser and disconnect/reconnect any cable interfaces. This may be worth a try even if key is not intermittent.

If this doesn't work or you don't want to disassemble, you can try a phone Hard Reset. See my other solutions on how to do a Hard Reset. Basically, hold down both left and right softkeys while turning on the phone. A Reset screen will display. Note all personal apps and data you added to phone since new is lost.

I have had this problem multiple times. It is apparently a flaw with the keypad on the phone. The keypad emits too much oil and causes it to stop working. I've sent my phone in twice to get the keypad replaced (there are companies selling replacement pads on ebay), otherwise, I've just learned to take my phone apart, wipe off the contacts and it works fine.
