Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it is dead. The tv convergence board it is dead, that why ur tv picture are R,G,B colors lines mis alignments, have colors shadows picture or 3D picture lood alike? The tv convergence board require changes 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems. The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
If the sound stays on try just going up and giving it a "whack" on the side, a pretty good one. If the picture springs back to life it is likely a poor solder joint. Those sets and many others are prone to cold solder around the vertical IC due to the heating/cooling cycles and high temperatures inside a TV. If you hit it and you get a picture back it likely just needs to be re-soldered.
The curving is caused by bad digital convergencr chips (2) located on large signal board. They need replaced along with blown pico fuses and the convergence resistors. Chips are huge compared to a regular IC. 2" x 1.5" and they will be bolted on fairly large heatsinks. Cloudy picture is most likely the coolant needs replaced in the picture tubes. This needs to be done approximately every 5 years.
I have the same tv. Had repair man come to my home in late april. Said it is the power convergence board. $225 for parts and labor I was told. Bad thing is part was supposed to arrive mid-may,then mid-june and now mid-july. He say's part is on back order. I'm actually going to contact RCA soon to find out if this is true. This seems to be a common problem with this particular T.V
