Are you getting this message with or without a disc in it? If it is with a disc, try cleaning the lens with a DVD lens cleaner.

Power on off button not working

It could be a number of causes including a faulty power supply, the switch itself is broken for whatever reason, or a microprocessor fault preventing it from turning on/off as required.

If the unit does not operate at all even with the remote, then it would likely be a power supply problem, not the switch, which means a workshop repair (if you are prepared to spend a couple of hundred dollars on parts and labour outside warranty) to restore this to full functionality as when it was new, as several parts may have shorted/failed in this circuit.

Samsung has a nasty habit of using unusual rated/valued components in their appliance power supplies, particularly IC regulators, so these are generally not obtainable off the shelf to the public, the only exception being electrolytic capacitors being standard as their values and working voltages can be uprated when replaced.

After preparing video cd in windows movie maker it cannot be played in my philips dvd player why? i have o/s window vista home edition.tell me the correct solu tion for this problem.

did you "close" or "finalize" the VCD? that's what makes the cd most compatible with all other players. you'd be surprised how many burners don't have that available setting as the "default" setting. also note some of the older, and/or more expensive DVD players have problems with some VCDs. sometimes the newer and cheaper models are more compatible friendly.

Dvd drawer keeps opening up on its own and will not stay shut?

There is a switch located at the front of the player right under the DVD tray. This switch tells the player that the door is completely closed. If this switch does not operate, then the Ilo will re-open the DVD tray thinking that something is jammed. Might want to try replacing that switch

I don't know if this will help, but according to the operator's manual I have, on page 64, the only place it mentions "Full" or "Quick" Preparation, is when using a DVD-RW disc. Apparently, with this type of disc, you must use the Full or Quick preparation INSTEAD of Finalizing after you're thru recording onto the disc.
With the DVD-R and DVD+R, all you can do is "Finalize"; With the DVD+RW, if I'm reading this correctly, NIETHER Finalization OR Preparation is required.
But with the DVD-RW, apparently ALL you can do is a "FULL" or "QUICK Preparation.
If you're only getting "Erase or "Finalize" WITH the DVD-RW, then it appears there may be a problem with the machine.
Or, if you're attempting the "FULL or QUICK" Preparation with any disc OTHER than the DVD-RW, all you should get is "erase" or Finalize", since the QUICK or FULL Preparation is not done with discs other than DVD-RWs.

Hope this helps. I'm certainly not an expert on these things....I'm a "Vinyl" type guy.

Not reading DVD

if your any dvd is not working that mean there would be
most common problem with following thing

1) Try to reinstall your operating system to recover your DVD driver files.

2) change the data cable of the DVD becouse if cable got fault it won't work(data cable on end is connected to dvd and other -to mother board )

3)if still problem is there then you have to change your DVD's Lense.
