- I have a Vtech phone, installed only a few months ago. This morning I cannot call out on it at all. In the window it says connecting. I have tried to disconnect the phone line and wait 15 sec. and plug back in. No luck. it still shows " connecting" in the window. You may need to set the handset in the base for 30 seconds. Press the page/find button on the base, if you have one on your model.
You should also verify that you have power to your base. Make sure that it is the base, and not an extra charger, if you have more than one phone!

Check the base for the ID number on the bottom. If you key in this number, the handset will work.
