Black Screen-No picture

I purchased a new 15" E-Machine Flat Panel Monitor a year ago from Best Buy. As of today, the screen is black, hence, no picture. Is there a solution out there other than having to purchase a brand new monitor?

We have an emachines flat screen monitor that has suddenly started acting stupid. It is less than 2 yrs. old, bought at Best Buy. In the middle of a session, the screen went black. The power light went out also. Plugged it into another computer. The sign on page came on but as soon as we hit the enter button, it went black. We can hear windows music starting up, but nothing else. Any help would certainly be most appreciated.

I purchased an emachine flat screen monitor two years ago. Up until 6/19 the monitor was working fine, now all I get is a blank screen. I tried connecting it to one of my other computers and the same problem occurred. the monitor powers up , white screen, no picture. If anyone has a remedy for this problem I would appreciate it.

Normally when an LCD monitor goes black, it is because the inverter goes out (which essentially is the backlighting).  To verify this problem, hold a flashlight up to the monitor while it is turned on and see if you can "see" the picture.  If this is the case, it could be repaired, but realistically, the cost to replace it might be cheaper (and you would probably end up with a larger monitor to boot).

Most likely there is a picture, but you can't see it because the backlight circuit may have failed. Take a flashlight and shine it on the screen at different angles while closely observing the screen. If you can see a faint image operating there, then the backlight circuit has failed. It is either the inverter or the lamp. If the TV is more than 5 years old that is the most likely issue. Today's sets aren't as durable as the old CRT ones that lasted 15 years. 5-7 years without repair/replacement is the new norm. Until and unless manufacturers step up quality and durability, this won't change. Many folks on this site try to repair their machines by buying replacement boards and swapping them out in what we refer to as "easter-egging" to solve the problems. This usually results in either a failed repair or more problems since these devices are sensitive and easily broken. If the set is more than 5 years old, you are best served with getting a new one. And. remembering that the new one won't last much longer than that, don't overpay for the new one you buy.

My samsung sincmaster 153v black screen but still a picture

Time for a new one. Most likely the inverter for the backlight is burned out. It's not a difficult replacement but by the time you've located one, paid for it and spent two hours replacing it in a monitor that old you've spent more money and time than buying a brand new 17"-24" would cost. Time to treat yourself to at least 1920x1080

Hi,
If standby red light is blinking on tv front that means tv got some internal problem, since tv is new so would be under warranty, call Best Buy or number written on tv documents and ask warranty cover.
Any attempt to fix tv by yourself will void warranty.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

My monitor is black but i can use a flashlight and see my screen. The computer and the monitor both come on but my screen is black i can put a flashlight up to my screen i can see what on my screen.

This means that you have a broken backlight. If your monitor is still under warranty you should call to have it repaired/replaced, or purchase a new monitor.

ViewSonic 19" flat screen monitor goes black - intermittently

Hi,
There could be a problem with your display card settings or the display card itself. If you are using Windows operating system, make sure that you have the monitor driver installed for that specific monitor. This is to ensure that Windows only allows settings for which your particular monitor was designed.
Let me know if I can assist you any further regarding this.
Best wishes,

first make sure its not an input problem or from an external source.Disconnect all inputs and see if lines are present with no inputs to tv.if lines affect menu and or ON SCREEN DISPAY (top) there is a good chance (SSB) board could be bad .I would start with this board first ,lvds cable (second) and last the logic board (comes only with new LCD)
