This is an unusual failure of a non obvious part in the power supply putting noise into the circuitry of the TV.
you either need a competant tech to work on it or if you are good at connecting up cabling just swap out all the guts.

Screen has started to flicker constantly. tv is 9 months old. When switched off flickering stops for about 5-10 minutes and then starts again

I had the same issue occur on my ln55c650 and they had to replace the power supply pc-board. Seems some issue with power module in the TV rather than the side panels. Luckily for me, TV was still in warranty.

Our brand new T.V. constantly flickers. It is a LCD 55 inch T.V. and is great other than the flickering problem. We speculate that the source of the problem may be the cable which is cox, but we are not...

If you have another TV then you can swap it. See if the problem goes away. Of if not start with the cable. Make sure the heads are professionally placed on and not done by hand. You can get short cables from Radio shack that could help in tracing this out. Also you can try another wall outlet.
Thanks and good luck,

My 14 month old, 32 inch Samsung flat screen tv ''flickers'' The cable went 'out' 3 or more times and when returning the TV started flickering. We have unplugged & plugged it back in several times, but...

Check if this occurs regardless what the source of the signal, whether it is DVD or cable or a playstation. You can also check if the Menu flickers as well. If the menu does not flicker along with the picture it could be a problem with the source, probably your with the cable box or the port where it goes to on your tv

Toshiba lcd tv flickers after being on 15 mins.

This is likely a power problem. Have the power brick checked by an electronics tech to see if it is cycling off and on over time. If the power supply is not the problem, you should consider returning it if you can.

When turned on it Flickers

Mine started out like that, now flickers about an hour before it comes on. I don't turn it off anymore, it'll burn out one of these days and I'll get a better TV.

It should when the TV is turning on. If it happens while the set is on there is a problem with the main board or a loose connection.

Samsung DLP Flickering

If you're certain the lamp is good, it's probably the ballast. The ballast has enough juice to power the lamp, but it's unable to maintain a steady consistent level of power, hence the lamp flickering. Changing the lamp may temporarily resolve it because a new lamp is more easily maintained than an older one, but if the ballast is failing, the problem will recur and probably shorten the life of the lamp. The ballasts cost around $70-80. Replacing it can be done by the electronically adept end user, or you may need a service tech. The problem with a service tech is that some may not acknowledge that the problem is the ballast especially if the intermittent flicker is not happening while he/she is examining it.
