Thats why it will not work, it MUST have cartridges in all slots or it throws up an error and will not work... usually there are inks with the printer, are you sure they aren't in the packaging somewhere? Even if only sample ones? In any event, you are going to have to fit them.

Try turning the plug cable 180 degrees and plug it in.

Might need a new printer. Lexmark printers can be troublesome.

Same thing happened to me, only different model.

First, make sure you have the right drivers (and by that I mean 32-bit or 64-bit).

Go to control panel and remove your previous installation; reboot; reload the drivers with your All-In-One UNPLUGGED until they tell you to plug it in.

select the scan problems in the below mentioned guide , it would take you to the solution, if its a software fault.There is nothing much we can do if the scanner bed is faulty except for getting the printer replaced if under warranty
