To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Conexant CX20549-12 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36090.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.

2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\sp36090 folder and select the .inf file (CpV30D5a) and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

presario c700's drivers? as simple as, get ur laptop registered on hp, log on, then they will provide all the drivers. but... as long as u'r using windows vista.

Hello to my all friends who have purchased c700 series laptops..
i would like to tell you one thing that you can't install windows xp in C700 series laptops because these lappies does not support windows xp.....you can ask HP Customer care for this also... they will also tell you that they do not have support for this but they ill give you some third party links for the drivers but they do not work properly........ as you can check that after installing sound the speakers ill not work perfectly and wi-fi also will not workk....
So Friends i suggest you to all that install windows vista , all the drivers are available on hp.com.....

Go to downloads.com and download a program called DriverMax. Once you install this it will scan your system and generate a report that tells you what the drivers are. It will also allow you to download and save them into a file. I did it and worked like a charm.

Friends, i had the same problem as vista is quite slow. but after a extensive search in the internet.In C700 there is a support for Xp and we can install all the drivers.even the sound driver would work normally.Only think is u need to know how to install them.

hi i run windows xp on my c700 and had no problem after i turnt of the sata in the bios and then found the right sound card drivers and i have sound on my computer and im running xp so it can be done ........................
