Yes please help, I just purchased the M3A78-EMH HDMI and noticed the sound swell. The sound is actually present, even when OS is booted up and no operation is being done. It is very very silent, more like static sound. The thing is when i copy a file from a networked computer, the sound level increases and sounds more like beeping like the old 56k modems during a isp connection. What the hell is going on?? I just posted this at the Asus forum as well. Should i be concerned that the board will die soon?

I tried putting a new sound card on the motherboard. The minute it touches the PCI slot, a loud sound emitted from the board, even after I removed the card. I switched off and on the computer, the noise refused to stop. The OS is not affected and the computer seem to be working OK except for the noise. Pse help.
